    I. Students and Material Analysis  The students in Class 2, Senior 2 are students in science, whose English levels lie around a mean level over the whole grade. Their capacity towards speaking and writing is deficient. Therefore, this class performed by writing a report is for their practicing to writing.  The material owns a theme of environment protection.  II. Teaching Aims 1. Knowledge Aims:  ①Students can know the basic meaning of these two passages. ②Students can divide correct parts for each passage.  ③Students can write a report about protecting environment.   2. Ability Aims:   ①Students can use the strategy of skimming &scanning to know the main idea of each Para.  ②Students can know how to perform a report by comparison to the two passages.   3. Emotion Aim  It aims for raising the emotion of protecting environment.  III. Teaching key and difficult point Students can perform a report.  IV. Teaching Aids   Blackboard & Multi-media  V. Teaching Procedure Step1:Pre-writing  warm-up   ①A quiz: What are the three longest freshwater rivers in the world? ②A video about Yangtze River with two questions: What is the fourth longest river in the world?   How many provinces and municipalities(直辖市/区) does it run across? Then, introduce protecting Yangtze River by environmental problems.   Step2: While-writing  Protect the Yangtze River  Task ①: Main idea for each Para.   Ask students to read through the whole passage and get the main idea of each  paragraph. Then, match with correct order.   Task ②: paragraphs division   Divide the five paragraphs into several parts. Then, fill in the blanks with correct answers.   Step3: Guide the air pollution with a picture about the haze.   Group discussion: Discuss with your partners and find how to reduce the air pollution.  Step4:Ask students to write a report about the title: Reducing the Air Pollution  How to write a report? ①raise the issue  ②how to solve it ③conclusion   Step5: Post-writing  Ask students to present their reports and teacher comments.    VI. Homework   1. Finish your report and add more details.  2. Preview Unit 3 Welcome to the unit.
