And they can use when, while, before, after, as, not...until and as soon as to express something. 2.Skill objectives:  1) Students can describe the time sequence of an event. 2) students can talk about their travel experiences. 3) Students can improve their ability of cooperation. 3.Emotion objectives:  1) Help students enjoy the beauty of our country and encourage them to share  their experiences in English.  2) Improve students’ sense of safety when traveling. 3) Students arouse their interest in learning English.  Focal points and Difficult Points:  1. Students can understand the text and retell it based on the mind map.  2. Students can describe their travel experienceswith the adverbial clauses of time.  Teaching strategies:  1. Task-based language teaching approach.  2. Communicative teaching method, including group discussion.  3. Cooperative learning method, including activities like pair work and group work, etc.  Teaching Aids:  Multimedia devices, PPT  Teaching Procedures: Step1 Warm-up    1. Enjoy a video about the beautiful scenery of China . 2. Enjoy a video about Bill’s travel experiences. Step2 Before reading  1. Learn new words and phrases. 2. Predict the text with the pictures. Step3 While reading  1. Skimming: Read the text then number the pictures. 2. Scanning: Read 1a again then mark T(true)or F(false). 3. Careful reading.  1) Read carefully , find the adverbial clauses of time then finish the mind map.  2) Answer some questions.  3) Make sentences with the mind map. 4) Explain the Adverbial Clauses of Time. 5) Finish the exercise in Part 2. 6) Retell the passage. Step4 Post-reading  1. Discuss what Kangkang/Micheal did and how they felt when Darren was lost.  2. Write an email back to Bill to describe Kangkang/Michael’s travel experiences. Step5 Summary  1. New words and expressions 2. Adverbial clauses of time Step Homework  1.Recite the new words and phrases.  2.Go on writing your travel experiences. 3.Finish the exercise on the paper.  4.Preview Section D. Read 1a 5times.
